Gloria Yeatman was also born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland and lived there her whole life until moving overseas.
Gloria obtained a bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland Global Campus in Technology and Management, and a masters from Towson University in Instructional Technology, focusing on instructional design for adults.
She spent 20 years working in the hospitality industry for hotels in the Baltimore area.
Paul and Gloria met in Baltimore, Maryland. They spent their honeymoon traveling around Mexico, which was Gloria’s first exposure to Latin America.
On April Fool’s Day 2009, they left the U.S. for Costa Rica with 12 suitcases, two laptops, one trunk, and their cat, Cleo. They moved to Costa Rica to simplify their lives and to retire less expensively—and much sooner—than they ever could have in the U.S. Having graduated from a university in Mexico, this move fulfilled a life-long dream of Paul’s to live in Latin America again and Gloria’s desire for some adventure.
