Joyce Barr describes that she is currently living an expat lifestyle in Panama. She is a life-long entrepreneur who took early retirement in 2018 at the age of 62, following more than 40+ years in both corporate and non-profit service.
She’s a graduate of the University of Iowa. She received a Paralegal Certificate and later earned a master’s degree in Public Administration from California State University Dominguez Hills.
Having started her career as a paralegal she also worked in sales, and as a management consultant among other positions. In 1996 she formed a community based nonprofit housing corporation, serving as its CEO/Founder for twenty years producing 200+ affordable housing units. She now operates a retirement lifestyle coaching and tour enterprise, specializing in assisting retirees for those wanting to explore retirement abroad living as an expat.
She’s lived in Panama for almost 4 years, including Panama City and Bocas del Toro.
Also a certified coach with her company Blast! Tours & Coaching which provides a unique personal experience through online coaching, resources, and support to those who desire to create an affordable, yet stylish life overseas.
Joyce enjoys traveling, the scenic outdoors, relaxing in a hammock with a delightful book, poker and serving others. Her motto "It's Never too Late to Live Your Best Life!"
