Mary Oluonye earned a degree in biology from The University of Windsor in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. She spent most of her working life in Ohio as a business owner, library associate, children’s book author, researcher, editor and speaker.
Mary describes herself as semi-retired. She currently authors and edits books and is one of the owners of a small travel and tour company based in the United States and Ghana. She edits children’s, teen and adult nonfiction books. She has written six nonfiction books for children, two each in the countries of Nigeria, South Africa, and Madagascar. Mary also wrote Moving to Ghana: The Essential Things You Need To Know.
She co-owns travel company, Celmar Travel and Tours, which provides tours of Ghana and other African countries. Mary’s passionate about introducing people to all that Africa has to offer – Its diverse lands, people and cultures – as well as the joys and challenges that come with living in an African country. She contends that she lives simply, affordably and is quite happy living that way.
